Barcelona

Barcelona is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. It is the 2nd largest city in Spain and the capital of Catalonia. It is known for its extraordinary and beautiful Modernist architecture which is famous throughout the world. The incredible creations by the architect Antoni Gaudí, from the late 19th and early 20th century, are especially renowned. 

 

Barcelona offers a unique experience that combines a lively cosmopolitan city with the opportunity to relax on the beach. Its beaches are right next to the city centre, and many more spectacular beaches continue along the coastline. There is a pleasant Mediterranean climate with lots of sunny days throughout the year; Barcelona is an ideal place to visit.

 
A day in Barcelona: 


You could start by having breakfast on one of the café terraces in the Gothic quarter of the old town district. Take a wander around its narrow streets, admire the splendid architecture and visit the some of the city’s landmark monuments. If you are here for the first time, make sure you see La Sagrada Família, the magnificent Modernist basilica designed by Gaudí.
After lunch you could walk to the beach and spend a couple of hours relaxing in the sun and cooling off with a splash in the sea. Enjoy something to eat or drink in one of the ‘chiringuito’ beach bars, which offer an unforgettable seafront experience. In the evening you could go out in the Born neighbourhood of the old town for dinner and some drinks. Barcelona is a very social city with endless possibilities for nightlife and entertainment. You’ll find everything from cute alternative bars, live music and street performances, to uptown lounges, trendy cocktail bars and nightclubs. 

 

Barcelona offers a breathtaking variety of experiences; there simply isn’t enough time to see and do it all in one trip. Every visitor will find something they enjoy here. It’s a city you will simply fall in love with!
